People Scare Me

I just had to explain the difference between Dish Washing Detergent and Dish Washer Detergent to someone who had purchased one thinking it was the other.

Hopefully no one has tried using the highly corrosive substance to clean their plates yet...

Is caustic soda really also called dish washer detergent? What's it used for?

Caustic Soda (NaOH) is strongly alkaline. It's an additive in almost every dish washer detergent as it breaks down the fat to soap.

Same reason it's in drain cleaner.

Human skin contains fat...
