When I first got a Wii I was a bit worried that Nintendo were going to be releasing their third Dud in a row in the non-handheld market. Of course I was wrong and in the first half of 2007, Nintendo have established th Wii as the best selling console of this generation, as well as apparently the most profitable. (Nintendo have sold each console for a comfortable profit. Microsoft sold early 360s for a small loss and later ones for a small profit. Sony PS3 Hemorrhages money per console, and probably will continue to do so until they can arrange for some serious Die Shrinks on core silicon, and the blue diodes they use for Blu Ray come down in price.)

Now Nintendo have (briefly) reached a higher Market Value than the entire Sony chain. That's right. More than ALL of Sony. (An interesting note is that Sony did better than the Nikkei, by a few percent, growing by 68% so they are doing well. It's just that Nintendo quadrupled in price in the same period, by effectively defending their portable market share and regaining their footing in the console arena.)
