Got Asmodeus back online. As I suspected the file system had got "confused" by the power glitch. I stuck in a second HDD, installed a "fresh" copy of XP, and ran chkdsk over the old drive array. It fixed a few minor issues and now it boots fine and I don't appear to have lost any data.

Not that I was worried. I do back up daily, but the stuff I'd been doing with video hadn't been backed up (Simply because 50+Gb of footage doesn't back up well) yet.

Yay!

Are we supposed to be submitting programme ideas to you yet for Nights Edge?

Sure! E-mail them to me and I'll flag em so I don't lose them.

Mind you it's a stunningly easy con to programme for.

I may even run some "informal" evening programming just cos I can!

Does you video program allow backing up EDLs (edit decision lists)? Most of the pro ones do, and its great - you can backup the action work in a small file, because if the drive goes down you can usually grab the video from the source again.

It does indeed. I was more worried about the video footage my brother had dragged over that was going to be a major effort to recapture.
