Cyberpunk Elements Emerging?

While reading the wonderful Warren Ellis I came across a link he filed on Feral Cities and was immediately struck by how similar to things I had written about in gaming before. I think what interested me most was in inversion of one of the ideas I had. I postulated that an epidemic would clear out the ultradense city centres, allowing a "rotten core" to take hold of the city, making them places that only the desperate or mad would live. Richard Norton, on the other hand, has cities that have gone "Feral" becoming hives of pollution and disease.

Highly reccomended if you were ever into the "CyberPunk" thang.
