On the Rain-slick Precipice of Darkness: Episode One

Anyone else playing Penny Arcade's little baby?

It runs much more cleanly on my Linux partition than on my XP partition. That may just be the drive speed difference though.

The challenge I tend to face is that the games I want to play are more like 10 year old. Often this means OSs that are no longer compatible.

It was a happy day when DOSBox got good enough to allow me to play System Shock again...

SS is the best, and Shodan is my GF, not yours!

Bioshock is great, very very pretty, and the steamage hacking is cool, but there is the voice of Shodan I miss...the rantings of a crazed Libertarian is just not cool, never will be.

I'm really torn, you know. SS1 is still a hoot, but I almost think SS2 is better.

Once you add the Texture Upgrades and the High Poly models that are out there, it plays like a more modern game and SHIT it's the creepier of the two. It's the sound in SS2 that does it though. The monsters whispering to each other in the darkness.
