On Sunday morning I purchased "Yoshi's Story" on the Wii Console. I had played it a lot when I owned it on the N64, often with friends, taking turns. I fired it up and it's still as annoying and difficult as I remember. V loved it! He loved the sound. He loved the bright colours. He loved picking which Yoshi would be next to die.

Good Fun.

As promised to [livejournal.com profile] babalon_93, I'm going to be doing 52 items of my own for the next year.

I'll be trying to come up with a new "game idea" for a RPG every week. These can be very minor (Suitable for a single session), to medium (suitable for a multi-week campaign) to major (Suitable to build a whole world around).

I have used NONE of these before, so although some of these have been kicking around the old grey matter for ages, this is the first time I have most of them down on screen.

Hook
: Countdown 30
(suitable for a multi-week campaign)

This is a short, sweet concept game:
30 Gaming Sessions. 30 Days of gameplay. 30 days until the end of the world.

Watch your players go through the stages. Denial. Anger. Bargaining. Depression. Acceptance.

SYSTEMS: Almost anything. It can be injected into almost any genre.

Hook
: Rule in Hell
(Suitable for about 2 months of gaming)

The players are all minor demons in hell. Nobody with power, or the kind that gets to have any fun. They are the petty bureaucrats of the underworld. Office politics and who ate the sulphur iced donuts?
Dante's Inferno meets Dilbert via "The Office"

SYSTEMS: Risus or D20

Hook
: The Smashing Six
(ongoing series of short adventures)
The Enid Blyton roleplaying game of Teen Adventure.
An indeterminate number of young teens with possibly a pet get to go on a series of smashing adventures while on holidays.
Camping Adventures!
Secret Agents!
Mysterious Castles!
Uncle Quentin!
Lashings of Ginger Beer!

SYSTEM: Errr. RISUS again?

Hook
: Red Star Rising
(ongoing campaign)

Aboard the orbital habitat "Yuri Gagarin", danger is only an inch beyond the metal skin that keeps your atmosphere in. It's not just the environment that might kill you either. The forces of Capitalism envious of your glorious achievements and will do whatever they can to destroy this jewel in the Communist crown.

Roleplaying in an alternate future where communism didn't fall, it thrived. Players are low level members of the party aboard a massive space station, run with practical (if primitive) engineering.

SYSTEM: GURPS, Traveller.
