I may be caught up with Doctor Who, at last, but MMmm, the last two episodes (Journey's End and The Next Doctor) have been, how do I put this... less than stunning?
Cos whoever thought a "steampunk" episode would be cool clearly needs to be taken out and spanked. C'mon! A 50 ft STEAM powerd "Cyber King", complete with pistons and steam funnels. PUH LEASE!
IMO, of course

Date: 2009-03-23 11:28 pm (UTC)It's just a shame that most of the rest of the ep was shite. I did like the subplot about the Next Doctor's slowly revealed story, and the Cybershades appealed on a visual level, but the whole 'we need to enslave 30 human children for a couple of hours' thing was ludicrous, as was the script's treatment of Rosita.

I found it more coherent than some of the other Specials (like the silly Titanic one).
