Grr Argh. Technology
Suddenly my ethernet link is only connecting at 10Mb.
Checked so far:
The next step is to switch the computer plugged into it. Unfortunately my Gigabit capable lappy is out on loan currently.
*sigh*
I'm too unwell for this crap.

Also tried plugging it into a 100Mb switch. No connection at all.
I'll probably try a 100Mb laptop link today but I'd like to try the full gamut if possible.

I'd be guessing either loose termination points on one (or both!) ends of the cable, or rodents nibbling the copper in the roof :(
I have an RJ45 cable tester you're welcome to borrow - should at least tell you if all 8 wires are getting a signal through.
prk.

If I may borrow your cable tester, that'd be good.

Directly plugged into a new switch with a new cable and we get... 10Mb/s.
BROKEN!
I'll go buy a new Gb card sometime.
