...and here's a picture. Nokia  for scale ;-)

There are some pretty damn impressive holes in our roof now...

Jesus on a pogo stick! No wonder you're upset.

Quite simply, it was THE most frightening thing that has ever happened to me.

That's pretty fucked up.

I can't even begin to imagine how people could believe that throwing rocks at a house with a young baby in it could be remotely considered cool, funny or justified for any reason whatsoever.

If it happens again, call the police. It sounds a much more like something someone might do to get homeowners to open up their door for a home invasion :-(.

We called the Cops. After an hour they called us back to ask if it was worth sending someone around cos they now had a vehicle free. I politely declined.

That's fucking pathetic!

Despite all one can say about badly run public services in the USA (and there are very many!), when [livejournal.com profile] kbpenguin called the cops recently, they arrived in about 2 mins.

Goddess...they aren't rocks - they are freaking boulders!

Will insurance cover the damage? Any ideas who it was? I think a boulder where the sun don't shine after a report lodged with the police would make them think twice before doing that again.....

Well, I think insurance might still think we have a tile roof. I was going toring them to discuss but john says he can fix this for under a hundred bucks. We were talking about getting the whole roof replaced in June/July, but perhaps we're just going to have to shift that forward a few months.

After the floor is done. I'm going to update about that in a bit.

I hope you called the police. I'm glad you are calm people because my reaction would have to been to grab one of the large swords hanging around the house, race outside and threaten said hooligans with dismemberment.
Matt just added "I wouldn't do that. We have perfectly good chainsaws in the house for a reason". So the reason might be to chop up wood but they would scare the shit out of anyone I guess.

On the bright side, considering that your roof is asbestos this might be a full replacement job on the insurance!

Yes, we did.

Well, john says he can fix this for less than 100 bucks, and insurance might still think we have a tile roof.

Not sure though.

Jesus H Motherfuckin' Christ!

Do you think you've pissed someone off, or was this was a random act of stupidity?

We're thinking random. They also peppered next doors with bottles, which of course smashed on impact.
:-(
