You know, if I had a choice of going to fireworks in Perth and fireworks in Armadale, I'll be choosing Armadale from now on in.

We rocked up nice n early and secured a spot just off to one side looking over at the stage. The performers were still too far away to be much more than interesting blobs, but we weren't there for the acts, We were there for splodey!

I had brought along entertainment, and just vegged.

And then, at 8:30, the fireworks.

When you go to see the fireworks in the city, unless you are REALLY early, you are usually quite a distance. In Armadale, you are less than 500 metres from the fireworks, worst case scenario. We were less than 150 metres. The fireworks MAY have been ssmaller, but we really didn't care when they were almost overhead! You'd hear the mortar fire, immediately see the trail of the rocket going up, and the firework would explode, and you'd hear it almost without a delay.

Brilliant!

And as we were leaving, I noticed the road covered with brown paper strips. Took me a moment to work out it was spent casings from the display.
