Now this is nifty!

How to make decent DIY survival kits, starting with an Alotids sized one (Designed to be carried at all time) through to a "Bum Bag" sized one that'll do for up to a week in the wilds. Not terribly Desert oriented, but a damn good starting point.

Wow. That is seriously cool, and appeals to my sense of fitting everything into tiny spaces...for the longest time I carried an old Whitman's sampler tin around with bandaids, safety pins, emergency sewing kit, paracetemol, imodium, cough lollies and other goodies....but then had to upgrade to a mini tupperware-esque container to fit in the baby panadol and bonjella etc:)

I can't believe just how much is actually in there:)

Excellent. I was thinking about this exact thing the other day. Just after I purchased my new torch. It has no batteries as such. You shake it up and it uses the old 'magnet and copper coil' trick to generate a charge which powers a white LED.

I have a thing about torches and lights. This one is my new favorite.

A $50.00 bill would have fit nicely in the tin and is very useful to motivate strangers. Personal ID is also useful - (if you are found and cannot speak for yourself).
Hell I never leave the house without some money and my ID. :-)
